Take a look at this beautiful home built in 1928 and designed by architect John Mills. Mills and his family were the original residents; this home has been beautifully maintained over the years. Doesn’t it look like something from a fairy tale? The stone and brick exterior and the roof lines are really enchanting.
And inside the rooms express unique points of view with barrel vault ceilings, arched windows and stained glass.
Oh, and did I mention that it is on Lake Michigan? Look at that gorgeous view!
Mills is known as one of the first “Chicago architects.” Sadly many of his buildings were destroyed by the Great Chicago Fire but he somehow managed to bury several important sets plans in the soil under the Palmer House and later retrieved them intact.
