Ron Howard puts his Connecticut Home on the Market

Twenty years ago Ron Howard and his wife purchased over 32 acres of property on a lake in Connecticut.  Wanting to build a home where they could raise their family they created an amazing compound.  In addition to the six bedroom home there is a two bedroom guest house, a sports barn and a working farm.

The home includes a two-story library, greenhouse and pool.  There is also an observatory with a Meade telescope.  It sounds like an amazing piece of property, doesn’t it?  Now that their children have grown and moved away, the Howard’s intend to move on.  I wonder where they will go next.

Do you have a junk drawer?

Doesn’t everyone have a junk drawer?  When we downsized we got rid of a LOT of stuff and I got serious about having a place for everything and everything in its place.  And yet somehow I still ended up with a junk drawer.  It’s not too bad though.  It’s actually fairly neat but still my catchall spot when I need a place to put something fast.

So what’s in mine?  A paint deck.  Several chargers, at least one that doesn’t belong to anything we currently own.  Chip clips, gift cards, miscellaneous coupons, doggie pick-up bags, a piece of pottery my daughter made at least 8 years ago that I can’t seem to part with, a pack of fruit stripe gum and an accessory to a dog leash which I can’t remember how to use or what it’s for.  That’s not too bad, is it?

Did you know there is a blog about the junk drawer?  Read it here.  You can photograph your junk drawer to share and answer a few fun questions at the same time.  The oldest post I could find is from November 2013 so it appears to be a newer blog but you get to check out the contents of other people’s junk drawers.  And that is kinda fun.

Just in case you decide to take on your drawer this weekend, here is a post with 6 different ideas to help you get organized.

A Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms!  And wishing everyone a wonderful week!
