Myron Hunt was the original architect of this beautiful Tudor in Lake Forest built in 1898.
Hunt was practicing in Chicago during the late 1800s and early 1900s and so was a contemporary of Frank Lloyd Wright.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped and include several gardens such as a Courtyard Garden, a Woodland Garden and a Kitchen Garden.
He relocated to California in 1903, opening an office in Pasadena with Elmer Grey.
Above is pictured an Ojai Valley Chalet designed by Hunt.
There office became quite popular among the wealthy; they were hired to design many large homes in communities all over Southern California including the summer ranch home of Will Keith Kellogg which is now part of California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California.
In addition to residential work Hunt is responsible for larger projects including hospitals, schools, churches, hotels and notably, the Rose Bowl.
