What a lovely home. Built in 1897, this lake-front home is another gorgeous design by architect Howard Van Doren Shaw. Yes, I have featured other homes he designed here and here. As I said, he was prolific in the Chicago North Shore area.
The entry features a lovely winding stair that wraps around the second floor.
But the outdoor space is really spectacular. Along with beautiful landscaped gardens, the home is situated on 5.4 acres and offers its own private beach front on Lake Michigan.
Wow! Just amazing!

And lastly, here is a very cute kitchen reno. The homeowner maintained the original 50’s vibe by getting rid of the unappealing updates and didn’t spend a fortune doing it. The tiled back splash and vinyl floor really help to pull it off, but the stove and refrigerator seal the deal. What do you think?
Have a great week!
